The Benefits of Flat Roofs in New Mexico
Lower Energy Bills: Flat roofs are a great way of reducing your home or businesses' heating & cooling systems. Since flat roofs reflect the sunlight and heat away during the scorching New Mexico summer allowing your home or office to remain cool, while retaining warmth in the winter months with its insulating properties.
Low Maintenance: Since there are no slopes or valleys for debris to build up, cleaning the roofs is as simple a task as can be and requires less frequency than a pitched roof type.
Stress-Free Installation: Flat roofs require less materials than other roof types like shingle & tile roofs. The reduced amount of materials also includes the added benefit of reducing the cost of installation.
Longevity: Flat roofs would definitely be considered a wise investment in the majority of our New Mexico neighborhoods. When properly installed by our expert team and with proper maintenance, flat roofs can last up to 30 years before needing any type of repair or replacement.
More Space to Work With: The simplicity of the design allows the owner the benfit of utilizing their roof in ways that other roof types do not allow. Flat roofs allow for AC & solar panel installation where they are out of the way on your property. They also open themselves up to viable recreation purposes or work as a functional storage of the home & office.

Types of Flat Roofs
Our team has experience working with many different types of flat roofing systems including:
TPO (Thermoplastic Polyolefin)
TPO flat roofs are the most common single ply membrane roofing in the business and one of the best energy savers. The material is newer to the roofing industry but is one of the fastest growing materials being used. You have most likely seen it on many commercial business roofs across New Mexico with its bright white reflective surface.
In addition to the single ply membrane, an insulation element can be added to provide better energy efficiency of the building. The membranes are also fire resistant to help add an extra safety standard to your home or business.
PVC (Polyvinyl Chloride)
PVC flat roofs are another type of single-ply membrane roofing, but has been on flat roof systems since the 1960s. They are very similar to TPO roofs with the main differences boiling down to the chemical structure of the material.
The PVC membrane is a less stiff when compared to TPO which makes it a little bit easier to work with in some cases.
